We already have Public schools. Give them the resources they need to make them better. The Best & Brightest Scholarship has a the worst criteria…Veteran teachers are not taken into consideration as many did not take the SAT or ACT. A teacher (me) that has had perfect GPAs in College and Graduate school…that the university sees the transcripts and with such great grades, the university waves the GRE requirement…a teacher that has always received Highly Effective evaluations, a teacher that puts forth maximum effort for her students, a teacher that students and parents care for…that teacher does not get this scholarship (bonus). When the criteria does not include ALL teachers who deserve it, it’s a bad and unjust way to spend tax payers money!!!
When lack of transparency is the only way that congress can write laws…that makes citizens lose confidence in the people they voted for.
