In reply to alex. I've been told all the power generated by the inefficient solar farm goes to the airport. Would be interested in reading is that is accurate. If you signed up for the scheme, you are funding it, but not getting any of that specific power to your home.

So sad for our community. Had to be payoffs or our elected officials are not very smart. For an old guy like me solar power has a mystery to be explained. If I do not get a new meter or new lines to my house, how can I tell how much of my power is solar and how much is non-solar. Do I just trust the city to know how much of my money to send overseas?

The Environmental Policy and ENERGY Resource (EPER) Department of the City under Cynthia Barber – (which was recently dissolved by 2016) – was touted as the ‘Sustainability’ group that was charged to assure that the People, Economics and Environment were balanced in all decisions, projects and programs. Not. Check out the ‘Green Initiatives Annual Reports’ from 2009-2015; look at the Energy section.

Are you telling me that this Solar Project award to a Belgium Company is just good ole mismanagement of this project and that none of our illustious ‘leaders’ of: Fernandez, Maddox, Gillum, Miller, Corey, etc, are involved in directing Tallahassee tax payer money and shipping it out of the U.S.A.? Really?

So there is no tie-in to the decision for the City not to build the City owned operated Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station that No Petro is running for our region via City gas acquisition and pass-through? Really?

Think big picture.

In reply to Mark. Comcast is a USA company with hundreds of local employees. And what they sell is voluntary and used by locals to produce more wealth. Unlike solar, which is inefficient and unnecessary. And will be tax funded.

That is where change is necessary. They are the elephant crushing our local economy.
