Thank you Gov Scott for abandoning some of the baggage you accumulated in becoming the tea party Governor. Having a system where everyone is protected from a bankruptcy for something that is mostly beyond their control is right in terms of justice and right economically...those costs are devastating for the individual and make care more costly for everyone else. Expanding medicaide isn't the solution, but with Mitch McConnel using his narrow majority to thwart any real reforrms.... not because they were too expensive...but because it might give the black president an achievement is at the root of the problem...the only option open to the executive was to expand coverage for the neediest.....many of them eventual Trump voters...was to expand medicaide. There are other options...ones that provide better care at lower costs. I hope that Gov Scott if elected to the Senate will apply his experience snd judgement to the issue, even if it requires him to call out his party's use and manipulation of health care policy as a wedge political issue...we need solutions, not rhetoric.

> Scott said little at the time the suit was filed but is trying to distance himself from it, saying that Attorney General Pam Bondi initiated Florida’s involvement without his input.

LOL Only the best people folks. I'm sure he talked to her about stopping the suit as soon as he found out.

Emergency room care is great for broken arms, or the flu, but terrible for diabetes, or epilepsy, or arthritis. Apparently children with asthma born to poor parents should just goto the emergency room every time they want to use an inhaler and need 'access to health care'. The inability for half of our country to have a sane conversation about this is an embarrassment, and meanwhile, the rest of the industrialized world has had literally decades to hold elections and vote in representatives who will put in a for profit model, and as of yet, not one single set of voters has made this decision, despite how terrible the right will tell you government involvement with health care is. Are the voters of every other country really that stupid? Or is it us, the people who can believe for one single second the guy who paid the largest medicare fraud settlement in history suddenly thinks healthcare is a right.
