My bet is that only the perjury charge has even a chance at making past a jury and everything is is just fluff. That may be FDLE’s only mission. No matter the emotion, how he was or was not trained is not a matter of criminal law. What he did clearly does not mesh with what we hope law enforcement (or anyone with a gun and a sense of duty to humanity) would do. However there is no legal or constitutional duty for any government to protect the life of an individual.

Pause and think, if there were, the Sheriff or Chief of Police would be arrested every time there was a murder in their jurisdiction.
I don’t know the political angle here, but time will reveal it. Perhaps a 42 US Code1983 Civil Rights suit against Broward County as a Democratic strong hold.

“focused on the actions of law-enforcement officers”. FDLE was not just investigating this one officer. I agree that 15 months seems like a long time, but I have no experience with investigations, and don’t know if this is an excessive amount of time, or if they were being thorough.

A 15 month “investigation” is just ludicrous.
Three months would have included a bit of foot dragging on the part of FDLE but would have been acceptable.
Governor DeSantis needs to get up from his comfy chair, drive on over to the FDLE, and kick a big ‘ole wingtip deep “up there” (where the sun dont shine) in at a minimum of 3 or 4 high level FDLE employees.
Unacceptable.
Fireable.
