By that reasoning, Mr. Kirby – if we get a new Republican Commissioner of Agriculture elected after Nikki, and he (or she) decides to put up a fuel pump sticker with President Trump’s picture that says “Four More Years!” under the photo and above the relevant Agriculture Dept. info, then the Republican Commissioner is perfectly entitled to do so. In your own words: “Just because they are elected to office doesn’t mean they lose their creative license. You “may not not *like* Trump’s picture on the stickers, but I defend his (or her) right to do it.”

It’s a bad road to go down and cuts both ways, so let’s just stick to the basic state logo and official information – instead of making state stickers into mini-political statements for any elected official.

Or just elect someone else, next time. Also standardize the ballots. Pretty sure last time there were some weird issues on both sides but the math doesn’t add up to one lone Democrat getting voted into the cabinet. Not that Putnam was anything to get excited about.

As a fiscal conservative, I completely agree. The tax collectors are the worst. Do we really need to see their names in 20pt font on envelopes, faces on mailings, signs, etc.? It adds zero value for the tax payer. They should create a law that limits the use of taxpayer dollars for this blatant free advertising of elected officials.

You’re right Art. If she wants to express her views on gay marriage, death penalty, foreign trade policy, abortion, homeland security, immigration, gun control, etc., on these stickers, she should have every right. Personally, I think she should have shown more cleavage, amirite?

Really folks, the First Amendment covers everyone. I might not *like* her picture on the stickers, but I defend her right to do it.

And at the end of the day, don’t we have more important issues to address than the design of an inspection sticker that excludes any ancillary partisan declarations?
