The latest employment information shows that Leon County added 6,378 jobs in August. One year ago Leon County added 4,989 jobs. The unemployment in August was 5.6%. One year ago the unemployment rate was 3.4%.
The unemployment last month was 8.6%
The number of people working in August, 2020 decreased when compared to last year. The Leon County Jobs Report, listed below, indicates that 138,639 people were working in August 2020. This is 12,797 less than the 151,436 reported working in August of last year.
Also, the labor force decreased when compared to one year ago. The August, 2020 workforce was 146,800 compared to 156,709 last year.
At the state-level, 474,000 jobs were added in August after adding 143,000 jobs in July, 2020. The August unemployment rate decreased from 11.6% in July to 7.7%.
