Or, for that matter, do we really expect school districts to care for students? Should districts only be responsible for the education effort and,, of course, the things used in the process, excluding supplies and stuff,, which I assume are still the responsibility of the teacher?

One size does not fit all; the conflicts never end.

They need to just give parents vouchers to send their children to the school(s) of the parents’ choice. This would be less expensive and more equitable than the current system.
