My response is towards several comments I’ve read on here and my own personal experience and opinions of what is going on. The last I knew, Florida is not a rehabilitation for criminals. I worked at a prison in Florida and it was all about incarceration not rehabilitation! They need to quit throwing people in jail for traffic violations, back child support, etc. and find an alternative for petty crime. This being said they’d have room for hardened criminals. We can blame the left and they can blame the right (I’m on the right), however, the real blame should be placed on the parents and the system! When my children were 16 I knew where they were, what they were doing and who they were with. I went through their rooms and backpacks frequently. There’s no way they’d ever have weapons on them without my knowledge. We live in a sad world if you view it that way. There’s more good citizens than bad. The media has stayed focused on any and everything bad and has engrossed the public in it. I totally agree there are some rotten apples within the police departments and need weeded out, but once again not all of them are bad. I had an experience with officer Fischer at TPD & plan to file suit at the appropriate time against TPD and the officer. I’m not a criminal by no means but he put his hands on me and my picture evidence will certainly determine his fate. But I also know some pretty awesome people that happen to work for that same department the sheriffs office, correctional dept. etc…

Tony, the teen is referred to as a victim because he was killed. I think Porter has been charged with murder even though he was defending himself because he was committing a felony at the time (the drug deal) which resulted in a death.

OK, maybe I watch to many Crime Shows…….

“Apparently, during the exchange, the teen who died and Williams attempted to rob Porter with a firearm. Porter then pulled his gun, shot at the victim, and fled the scene.”

Why is the Teen being called a Victim when the Teen and Williams were going to ROB Porter at GUN POINT? WHY was Porter Charged with Murder when he only pulled His Gun to protect himself AFTER they pulled theirs?

Do not act surprised. This is the product of not holding people responsible for their actions and being too soft on crime. Society has been promoting criminal behavior for so long today’s youth aspire to a life of crime. And whatever happens, do not state the obvious what group is responsible for the largest portion of crime in Leon and Gadsden County. Just keep the community swimming pool open later, continue to push the “rehabilitate not incarcerate” theory and watch crime continue to rise. The only way to reduce crime is to build a mega multi-county jail and fill it. Stop the “catch and release” of criminal suspects. Admit it, the consequences to committing a crime in Leon and Gadsden County isn’t much. Why our liberal local elected officials are sucking up to criminals and their families is beyond me. Unless it is about getting their vote.

Not a drive by and not a domestic dispute…they know what it wasn’t. So why don’t they tell us what it was?
We deserve to know, we pay for what they know. They keep us in the dark and the situation only gets worse. Nothing in Tallahassee is getting better and the commissions just keep spending more money on dumb stuff. Then they brag about all the dumb stuff they spent our money on.
While people are being gunned down on their doorstep and all the cops will say is what it wasn’t! You people…

Those junkets that our elected officials spend taxpayer dollars to Sandestin and Amelia Island, the Children’s Services Council (CSC) payment of $120,000 to a former Gillum campaign staffer, and our elected officials illegally diverting infrastructure funds to a stadium is really paying off!
