Nothing will really change in how the district operates. The authority will still levy taxes and fees and deliver/oversee services, and life will go on. It is in everyone’s best interest for expedited and innovative permitting to continue, and in no one’s best interest to levy taxes and fees which burden employers or impede economic development.

I will remind folks that in 1968, the year after initial passage of this particular development district, voters adopted a provision into the State Constitution prohibiting the existence of this type of special district.

As you read it be aware that if you dont get a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart you are part of the problem. Just one small tiny issue and it is with the title of the artical – our Govornor is not “getting” power as a result of pending legislation. No not at all…our Govornor always “HAD” the power. The pending legislation only clairfies the Govornor’s existing power.
