The report tells us that a woman has been shot and killed in a residence. Nothing to tell us if it was a suspected suicide or if there’s a murderer running around loose.

So the Department of Commerce, later the Agency for Workforce Innovation and the the Department of Economic Opportunity, has gone home and is again simply the Department of Commerce. Good on them.

I don’t know anything about the validity of the underfunding claims made by the FAMU students, but as one of the people that pays more taxes than he consumes I suggest that we solve the issue by merging FAMU into FSU. It’s silly and hugely wasteful to have two state funded universities less than a mile apart, declaring one an honorarium to the black population while simultaneously denying the black/white issue. If FAMU were not an HBCU there would be few arguments about merging the two institutions.

@ David… you are 100% correct, sir. Aside from using tax dollars to subsidize the land purchase and construction costs of housing – or – using tax dollars to build and subsidize rents in government housing (formerly known as “projects”)… there is absolutely nothing local governments can do to “create” affordable and/or workforce housing.

No matter how they spin it, the only way they can impact housing costs is by legislating rent or housing cost control measures – or – by direct tax dollar subsidies. Either way, we taxpayers will unfairly and unjustly shoulder the burden.

“City Commissioner Curtis Richardson said affordable housing is a top priority for the city, second only to public safety.”

And YET, you all are putting it off until NEXT Year, AGAIN……..

There is no such thing as “Affordable Housing” for Low Income Family, None.
