@The Solution = You can only do Research from the Information you have, I took the Information given and THAT is where it took me. NOW, Vicious Fish gave NEW Information which took me to the Actual Address, THANKS Vicious Fish, and with that Information, it shows a very NICE Building. Looks like it has Basketball Courts and a Baseball Field. Very nice. I’m with Skeptic on this, I don’t see where it needs over $4,000,000 in repairs. I have not seen Lumber and Building Materials rise in Cost THAT much over the last several Years or Labor Rates I think the Commissioners need to do a Field Trip to the Site WITH the Contractor and have the Contractor explain and defend the cost. If able to, I would love to be there as well.

Nice when government competes with the private sector. Soon we will ALL work for the government. Producing very little but for keeping non profits alive.

Funny thing about non profits. They exist to solve some kind of problem yet they never solve the problem because the gravy train would cease.

Great news local citizens Snidely is giving some serious consideration to running for County Cimmissioner and going in with a bottle of bleach and a scrub brush to clean that corrupt excuse of a public service organization.
Most likely I will run against Bill Proctor and win by my peeps on The Southside’s overwhelming mandate.
But I’m keeping my options open so in actuality every Commisioner’s seat will stand in jepordy until I make my final choice.

Hawkins, before you start spouting misinformation, please do a little research, the said property is located at Miccosukee Community Park (Concord School) is located at 15011 Cromartie Road, Tallahassee, Fl (Just east of Veterans Memorial Drive). This will be a major renovation to this historic school, and your running for County Commissioner, good luck.

@vicious — thanks for the correct address. I’ve driven past the building quite a few times in my 50+ years in Tallahassee. That it’s deemed safe for use and fully functional speaks volumes for how well it was built, updated, and maintained.

$5,000,000 to renovate an existing 7,500 sq/ft building is still excessive. Residential rates right now are about $200/ft. $700/ft for renovation costs on an existing and useful structure sounds like it has a lot of payola built into it.

Hawkins and Skeptic: The Address is 15011 CROMARTIE RD. It would have been helpful if this site would have included it. It is a 7,500 SF 1940s brick school house, and includes major site renovations as a community park.

Also, The $4.25M is from a Federal Grant. Another tidbit that would have been nice if this site would have mentioned.
