Let me remind you that all figures lie, and all liars figure.

“Florida’s graduation rate soared to an all-time high for the 2022-2023 school year”.

On the surface, that seems nice, but let’s include some raw numbers on capabilities. Turning out students that “graduate” but can neither count nor write is nothing to boast about.

What a crock of garbage! Anyone can plainly see that are men and women on the front lines in law enforcement, fire and rescue, and EMT are grossly underpaid.

Quite frankly, if you would do away with your silly unions, that is part of the problem. You are taking away good money for your silly union rather than going into the pockets of the people on the front lines who need it. Your politics don’t play with me, bubba!

Nicholas….. We have both Fire and Police Unions that have negotiated contracts. These contracts specify pay and benefits for the groups. These contract negotiations make sure that there isn’t an issue with these groups being underpaid as these contracts are negotiated and ratified by those involved. If you’re going to make a statement about them being underpaid, I’d like to see the evidence.

If you’re going to write stories about one party attacking the police please include that the State Attorney and the Police Chief misused taxpayer funds by going to the Greater Chamber of Commerce, Amelia Island, junket to personally attack and engage in a politically motivated attack on a city commissioner / private business owner.

The state attorney should be disbarred for that display and a competent city manager who is needed should evaluate the situation regarding the police chief.

Not condoning the offensive comments, but the state attorney and the police chief’s have shown conduct unbecoming.

It is sad that our elected officials spent taxpayer dollars on ridiculous junkets and law enforcement, EMT, and Firemen / Women are grossly underpaid.

Congratulations to the new police officers who are greatly needed and will be greatly appreciated. I hope our elected officials will be more fiscally responsible so that they will receive a decent compensation for their invaluable service..
