If Amtrak returns to Tallahassee, the city and county will be on the hook for building a new station which will get used for a year or two before the service is discontinued again. The previous service was terrible and slower and less reliable than bus service, even though every passenger’s fare on the route was subsidized $600 by American taxpayers. Propping up a dead horse wins few races.

Actually, there were TWO Public Pollution Notices, the second being a 60,000 gallon spill.

Both occurring within days of the large rainfall we had the prior weekend, an indication of the on going infiltration of water daily and, especially, during rainfalls causing an overload to the aged and leaky sewage system.

My experience on Amtrak, almost 20 years ago to/from Pensacola, was horrible. Train ran 3 hours late and the stench from the bathrooms stunk up the passenger cars.
No food/beverages.

Excellent! I can walk to the train station, armed to protect myself, and catch a train to Jacksonville so I can get a flight out!

Are we still trying to make trains a thing? I guess if the rail is already there, have at it. Just run it till it meets Brightline. And then let Brightline start taking over the route back to TLH. Amtrak is done for and cant exist without tax dollars.

Ill stick to planes and cars. Faster and cheaper.

ANOTHER RAW SEWAGE SPILL? WTH is going on? At all the Campaign Debates that I participated in since 2015 I have said, more Preventative Maintenance needs to be scheduled if ANY is being done. Most of the Spills are caused by lack of Maintenance on the Pumps, Motors, Valves, etc.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Amtrak come back to Tallahassee just remember, it wasn’t a big Money Maker for Tallahassee so we don’t need to spend $Millions on this project.

The WORLD is at “Unrest”, why hasn’t our Government told all Americans to get back to American Soil NOW?
