@ Dee... you lament an alleged “conservative” solution, but ignore the reality that the number of homeless has exponentially grown under a “liberal” administration as a result of their “solution”. In Democrat-controlled cities and counties, homelessness is seen as an economic model. Simply put; the more homeless you have in your city/county, the more matching Federal tax dollars you can draw down into your General Fund to help “address” (insert wink here) the problem... and yet, they problem continues to grow the more money you throw at it.

I have firsthand knowledge on this. They don’t want to solve the problem, they want to exploit it as a means of revenue generation.

Sorry if the truth hurts, but the truth often does.

Lol. Homeless come to Florida in the winter and leave in the summer. There's an eye opener. Yet the numbers continue to grow.

The conservative solution? Do nothing and arrest them if they sleep in the public space at a cost to the tax payer of over $100 a day.

Makes sense only to a guy who ignores the problem.

How convenient that this "new report" on the Florida homeless population comes in this election cycle. A Biden Administration bureaucracy report once again targeting a Red State. Imagine that.

First responders in Tallassee (and most likely elsewhere in FL) have told me stories about making health checks on people living here on the street. One family was actually camping out on the same block as the Kearney Center! Many of these folks get free bus tickets from states further north to travel to FL. In fact, the family camped out near the local homeless shelter got free bus tickets from Indianaoplis to travel here.

I'm happy our Governor and the Legislature are passing laws to get the homeless into shelters. If free bus tickets to FL continue to be handed out, expect to hear the drumbeat of the Federal government talk about "our problem". down here.

Once again, Liberals generate problems and Conservative solve them.

Edward Lyle: the most common sense analysis yet! I have always thought it odd that local homeless stats were gathered during the Winter months and used for funding throughout the year. At best, there should be quarterly stats gathered. Thanks Edward

Homelessness is seasonal and transient by nature. They'll live off the taxpayer handouts here and peddle enough money to Greyhound-it back up north come summer. Then they'll be back in the winter. The homeless population numbers in any given religion are cyclical, and ebb and flow based on the seasonal temperatures.
