Albany; population 68,000–22 schools, citations 900 first year, double that second year.
Google – Albany KALB news School cameras …you’ll find it. Does look like they’ll collect four million and vendor will get 30% +. Traffic court is backlogged for a year or so out . Issues include:
Who is the arbitrator of evidence -vendor or gov’t employed police officer ? Can’t sue the vendor.
Are the cameras in use 24/7 or half hour before and after class periods? Varies with municipality.
Will all school zones have flashing lights and signs in place before implementation?
You can have your day in court, but you have to request it and be there. Most cases in Albany are dismissed, but still have to go to court.
More than seven States have outlawed School Zone cameras.
Question ? I can’t find the death of a student in Leon … while inside a signed School Zone . Two deaths from the school bus infractions. Maybe our school guards work

Too little too late for Curtis and the firefighters. The city should have not drawn this petty John Dailey/Reese Goad fight out so long, they really hurt tax and spend Richardson in the process. PBA will take a backseat to TFD in 2026 and beyond.
