If you recall, Matlow and Porter were both reelected to their positions the last time around. Also, Mayor Dailey for that matter. It appears the voters in Tallahassee are very happy and pleased with the job that ALL the commissioners are doing. That includes Matlow, Porter, Dailey and now Richardson.

When people vote for an incumbent they’re saying, “we really like what you’re doing.” When you give someone a raise, especially a great big one, they’re saying, “you’re doing a really great terrific job.” That’s what happened on November 5. It’s just that simple.

I don’t agree with Dot or Curtis. I understand I’m in the minority, but I believe the city should be cutting spending and property taxes, rather than raising their own pay. They knew what the job paid when they ran for it. I don’t believe they are good stewards of our money. Just my opinion.

Jim and Sense – you can be sick about it but I appreciate you’re not gonna blame people because you’re in the minority. We can disagree but Matlow has made an enemy out of anyone he disagrees with. Porter wants us all to pat her head and when the majority of this community rolls their eyes and chuckles – she clutches her pearls and everyone is so terrible. The new Dozier (who the City resoundly rejected in a general election and Porter should be quaking in her shoes now that she has to compete at the Varsity level. It’s not about the majority – the majority is more reflective of the community. hope everyone can work together and not vilify when they disagree.

Totally agree with common sense. The raise makes me sick. As does the 3-2. Sad.

So, once again it looks like nothing will change at City Hall. The usual 3-2 votes will continue for at least the next two years. Voters must be very happy and pleased with how things are going in Tallahassee. After all, they gave the commissioners a 100% raise.

Also, in Leon County, no changes were made to the county commission, So, the county voters must be very happy and pleased too.

Carry on commissioners, we really like what you’re doing.
