I have long thought decriminalizing pot possession and use and heavily taxing it makes sense. But in order for me to vote for it, it would have to protect every property owner so that they can absolutely forbid use and possession of marijuana or other substances in/on their property. And every person who is on a rental agreement who objects to its use in a shared building. And its presence at or in any public property also needs to be prohibited. Smoking it needs to be regulated too because you can't contain the effects of smoking either inside or outside a building. And residential property sale should include a report of whether clean up for health is required.

So wouldn't it make more sense to simply prohibit any criminal consequences unless its use interferes with the choices of some other person who objects (or it is being sold outside a licensed establishment? And really heavy taxing of sales so that it isn't particularly profitable to be in that business and/or so that the taxes cover all of the negative health and productivity consequences that follow?

"The revamped recreational-marijuana measure, like its predecessor, would allow adults ages 21 and older to purchase and possess marijuana."

Excellent... because we all know how well that works with alcohol (sarcasm off)
