I don’t think you can completely blame teachers for bad schools. The most successful schools in Leon county all have one thing in common, high parental involvement. The not-so-great ones have very little involvement from the family, except when little Johnny gets in trouble, and then they want to blame the teacher.

And why does the legislature run schools instead of the community? Everything they touch rots. 20 years of testing got us nothing but a straightjacket.

David…. When was the last time you saw a pay phone???? There used to be one on almost every block downtown, and at most places where people gather. Now there aren’t many at all. Telling the kids to use something that is not there (anymore) doesn’t make sense. I get that you’re old and had to rely on these when you were young, but times change

I went to many Out Of Town Football Games. What was it they called those things, oh yeah, a LAND LINE. Teach your Kids how to use one.

the bill would make it easier to convert traditional public schools to charter schools. …………. How would that work, would the Schools get all new Teachers? Because the the Students weren’t doing that good in a Public School so they were moved to a Charter School, that says the Teachers were not doing what they needed to do so why keep them for the Charter School?
