There were 3 companies that expressed interest in coming to TIA, I believe 2 proposals fell through. No panic on my part, it happens everywhere. Let’s get the International Processing Facility open by the end of 2025 and let’s see who it enhances foreign trade in our region. We need manufacturing and research development companies foremost with the FTZ designation. Sure won’t hear me complaining about not attracting a company that wants to disassemble airplane parts.

It’s not surprising Leon has a low growth rate. Florida’s two big growth drivers are retirees and tourism, both of which Leon county has very little when compared to the rest of the state.

I remember several Years ago the City bragging about a Company was coming to the Airport that was going to Part Out Airplanes. What ever happened to that?

If a Company wants to build their Business on a piece of property that is already Zoned for it, they should be able to break ground within a couple weeks.

Actually until we encourage more urban growth, I’m okay with the rate of increase. In accordance to Wayne Tedder, developers wanted to build downtown but absurd regulations turned a lot of them away. Has nothing to do with racism or lazy blacks. Work on improving airport fares to encourage more traffic (Foreign Trade Zone) and remove those restrictions in the downtown core (amendments to be finalized this summer) and Tallahassee will see more meaningful growth. Also FSU needs to cement the partnership with TMH so the FSU Health can complete its mission of transitioning Tallahassee into a healthcare hub. There are other developments that FSU is undertaking that will help boost our economy. There is a lot to look forward to here in Tallahassee but relax development restrictions asap. My family lives in Sarasota, lots of growth there but we don’t need to worry about storm surges and water quality issues. Tallahassee issues are fixable and strides are being made to do just that.

Leon County lags in population growth because it a Deep Blue Government in a Deep Red State.
After living here for 45 years, it is just so frustrating to see to see how this city is so unwilling to change, improve, and listen to the majority of it’s citizens because they are afraid of the predictable reactions from social, racial, political, and the liberal Legacy news media who have bullied their way to control local government for generations.
Positive change comes slowly to Tallahassee, so those who seek reality change are forced to move away.
