‘Yo Teachers…if you don’t like the pay, don’t take the job. Teachers knew what the pay would be when they signed on. If working 5 days a week, 9 months a year with every conceivable holiday off for what the teacher agreed to be paid isn’t sufficient perhaps they should look for happiness somewhere else.

Mazur is on point. LCS should never have been in this position. We got here because of indecision and board members making decisions for personal gain.

I agree. I noticed several million in gym renovations in the LCS budget. Maybe its time to prioritize teaching over entertainment.

Since they just added 47 administrators – let’s start there. People over Budget never works because everyone loses!
Might be time to close some schools, too. I went to a high school far from my home. We took a bus, or the kids carpooled.
However, the answer to every socialist dream is taxes! Remember, the number one issue during the midterm is affordability, with a sub-heading of home affordability.
I’d say this property tax idea is a real non-starter.

Just curious, when you compare Teacher Pay with other Counties, do you also compare the Job Duties as well? Some Teachers do more than others and some Teachers a LOT more than others.

Wow. Not a usual supporter of Unions, but Mazur made some bold and excellent points. Unfortunately, I suspect his comments fell on deaf and dysfunctional ears.
