The investigative book Secret Empires by Government Accountability Institute’s (GAI) Peter Schweizer will debut at #1 on the New York Times combined print and e-book best-seller list, according to publishing industry sources.

Peter Schweizer resides in Tallahassee where GAI is located.

Tallahassee Reports will host an event featuring Peter Schweizer on April 23rd in Tallahassee. Get details here.

Secret Empires, which is Schweizer’s fifth New York Times bestselling book, has caused a stir throughout official Washington with its newly unearthed revelations, including:

How Vice President Joe Biden’s son’s firm scored a $1.5 billion deal with the Communist Chinese government’s Bank of China only 10 days after Joe Biden and his son returned from China aboard Air Force Two in 2013

How the Biden-China $1.5 billion fund (officially named Bohai Harvest RST) became an “anchor investor” in China General Nuclear—a company that, one year later, the FBI charged with stealing nuclear secrets in the United States

How Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife Elaine Chao received a “gift” of $5 to $25 million from a family member who sat on the board of one of the Communist Chinese government’s top military contractors

Mitch McConnell’s sister-in-law Angela Chao currently sits on the board of the Communist Chinese government’s Bank of China.

Mitch McConnell’s father-in-law James Chao and sister-in-law Angela Chao previously sat on the board of China’s state-owned CSSC Holdings, the financial arm of the Chinese government’s military contractor CSSC. James Chao is also the father of current Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao. Angela Chao is her sister.

How the firm of Barack Obama’s best friend Marty Nesbitt scored big using the “smash and grab” technique wherein Obama would “smash” a company with onerous regulations before Nesbitt’s company would then “grab” the business for pennies on the dollar

New eye-opening revelations about George Soros, Tom Steyer, Penny Pritzker, Dick Durbin, Jared Kushner, and myriad other members of the Washington elite

The author’s past books have led to federal investigations, congressional resignations, or the launch of Capitol Hill ethics probes.

Schweizer’s 2015 book, Clinton Cash, parked an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

In 2012, 60 Minutes covered Schweizer’s book Throw Them All Out, which uncovered insider trading by members of Congress and led to passage of the STOCK (Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge) Act that banned lawmakers from using inside knowledge when making personal investments. The 60 Minutes story won the Joan Shorenstein Barone Award for excellence in Washington-based journalism.

Best selling writer Peter Schweizer, who’s most recent work – Clinton Cash – is currently #3 on the New York Times Best selling list, has been ignored by the local media.
Other than a visit on WFLA’s Morning Show with Preston Scott, Schweizer has not scored any local coverage in the Tallahassee Democrat, on WFSU, or WCTV.

Why is this news?

Not only does Mr. Schweizer live in Tallahassee, the investigative research organization he founded, the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), is located in Tallahassee. GAI employees that live in Tallahassee helped produce Clinton Cash! You would think that would be news.

New York Times called “Clinton Cash” the most anticipated and feared book in a presidential cycle. So, while the New York Times, 60 Minutes, the Washington Post, Fox News and MSNBC provide coverage of a book that has captured the attention of the nation, no local media outlets have found the time to pursue a story about the author who resides in Tallahassee.

The New York Times Best Sellers Page, May 31, 2015

You say Mr. Schweizer must be aloof and unavailable.

He recently appeared at the Tiger Bay luncheon, which I am told drew a large crowd and is a rather accessible venue, but it was not worthy of any coverage. Yet, Tiger Bay Speaker Charlie Crist, in April 2014, received coverage in the local Gannett paper under the headline, “Crist speaks to Tiger Bay, Embraces Obama’s ACA.”

You say he is a one hit wonder.

Have you heard of Throw Them All Out and Extortion – both New York Times best sellers?

In 2012, Schweizer’s book, Throw Them All Out, was the basis for a comprehensive report on CBS’ 60 Minutes. The book resulted in a Federal law that addressed insider trading among members of Congress. The research was non-partisan in that it identified Democrats and Republicans who took advantage of a loop-hole in the law.

You say he must be an uneducated right-winger.

Have you heard of Oxford University? Yes, the one in England.

Mr. Schweizer has a B.A. from George Washington University and a Masters in Philosophy from Oxford University.

So, how many New York Times best-selling authors with a degree from Oxford live in Tallahassee? How many best selling authors house their research operations in Tallahassee? How many authors have had their book used as the basis for a Federal law that garnered bipartisan support and live in Tallahassee?

Exactly one.

And remember, your read about him in Tallahassee Reports.
