Leon County Commissioner for District 2 Christian Caban, who also serves as Vice-Chairman, penned a letter to Commissioner David O’Keefe addressing a controversial social media post by O’Keefe related to the recent murder of Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare.

Saturday is the Winter Festival in downtown Tallahassee. Events take place from 3-10 p.m. Food vendors will be on hand and four stages will provide entertainment. President-elect Donald Trump says he’s all in behind his nominee to run the Pentagon, who has dealt with questions in the press about personal and professional comportment. However, DeSantis is seen as a potential backup plan for the Pentagon, but Trump is standing by the current nominee.

NATIONAL NEWS

The House voted last night 206-198 against forcing the release of an ethics committee’s report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R, FL-1). The vote returns the decision back to the House Ethics Committee for further deliberation.

Colombian drug lord Fabio Ochoa Vásquez was released from US prison this week after serving 25 years of a 30-year prison sentence. Ochoa is expected to be deported to Colombia in the coming days.
