In an event hosted by the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Chamber showcased Florida’s economic forecast and Leon County’s future population. By the year of 2030, Leon County is expected to increase in population anywhere between 20,000 to 45,000 people, meaning more jobs will need to be created. Get the details.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office announced they arrested a man following an investigation into child pornography possession. James Bates, 50, was arrested on 20 counts of possession of child pornography. The investigation was initiated when LCSO received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Detectives seized several electronic devices from Bates’ residence as part of the search warrant. Bates was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.

Florida State Sen. Lauren Book filed legislation entitled “Death with Dignity Act” which would allow Floridians with terminal conditions to request and receive medication to end their life on their own doing. “(E)very competent adult has the fundamental right of self-determination regarding decisions pertaining to his or her own health and recognizes that for some faced with a terminal condition, prolonging life may result in a painful or burdensome existence,” the bill says.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio filed legislation to nearly ban all transgender individuals who have already gone through a gender reassignment surgery from the United States military. Rubio said that the United States should be focused on being prepared to counter threats from enemies like China, Russia, and North Korea, and not enlist recruits who have gender dysphoria.

Rachel Bethke has made a name for herself on the track for the Maclay Marauders, now she looks to do the same in college. Bethke signed her letter of intent to compete for Cornell Thursday, an Ivy League school in New York, where she said she’ll focus mainly on the 400, but may run the 800 or 200 as well.
It’s baseball season at Dick Howser Stadium as the Florida State Seminoles baseball program under first year head coach Link Jarrett opens their year tonight in Game 1 of a three game series against James Madison. The game tonight is at 5:00 p.m. with Carson Montgomery taking the mound for FSU, followed by Jackson Baumeister on Saturday, and Jamie Arnold on Sunday. Arnold is a true freshman who will be making his first career start.
Florida State men’s basketball returns home to host the Boston College Eagles at noon on Saturday while the FSU women’s basketball team hosts the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Sunday ta 2:00 p.m.

I think the Jobs are here already considering 90% of the Businesses I drive by have “NOW HIRING” Signs.
There’s so much wrong with all of this that it’s hard to know where to start.

When a politician (Book & Rubio) boasts over a “bill” they filed they are talking to the “low information voter”. Neither bill has a chance of becoming law. Kinda like when you contact Rubio’s office and if you are lucky you get a standard response form letter that reads. “…thanks for contacting my office, yadda, yadda, yadda. Please vote for me”.
