A piece of Florida legislation that would have lowered the threshold to sue media outlets and others has died. The legislation advanced through the House Civil Justice Subcommittee but appeared stalled awaiting a House Judiciary Committee hearing. The bill would have also opened up the potential for action against social media users.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis requested major disaster declaration for Broward County and for Preliminary Damage Assessment teams to deploy for in-person determinations. The Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program has been activated, meanwhile, with $5 million now available for businesses impacted by floods.

FSU baseball got the Sunday win against the Virginia Tech Hokies after dropping Friday’s and Saturday’s game. At the plate, James Tibbs hit his second home run of the weekend, a two-run shot in the third inning. The notable game of the weekend came on Friday night where the Noles lost 24-9. The Noles are 14-25.

TR is not picking up the story regarding the “racism policy” posted in the adjoining county prosecutor’s office. It is so serious an investigation is called for and possibly underway to see if Hispanics were unfairly targeted.
Are you kidding me? You’re only going to write about the driver’s license and leave out the part where the state attorney Jack Campbell has been on front page news nationwide news regarding racism against Hispanics are you kidding me?
It wasn’t that long ago he made front page news regarding comments he made at the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce where he was on a junket paid by taxpayers. He intimidated a private business owner, citizens, and elected officials that he was going to get involved in our local elections and try to take power over them. He was censured by the local Democratic Party, his own party. He should have been disbarred for that display.
Correct me if I am wrong, the national stories are about the driver’s license issue. Steve S.

I find it funny how Jack wants to hand out harsher punishments to “undocumented immigrants” for driving without a valid driver’s license but is okay with reducing Charges from Attempted Murder to Assault. Actually, I find it SAD,
