Northeast residents talk about the benefits and problems that come with widening Bannerman Road.

Wakulla County Commissioners have decided to postpone a vote on the controversial new gas station slated to go in at the intersection of Crawfordville Highway Bloxham Cutoff Road. Last night when the meeting was supposed to take place, the commission chambers were full and a line stretched outside the building. The new date for the vote has not yet been set, but the commission postponed the vote due to numerous people waiting outside during extreme heat.

FLORIDA NEWS

In an NBC News interview, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was asked about the 2020 election and said “of course” Donald Trump lost the election. “Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20 every four years is the winner,” DeSantis said. Trump’s campaign spokeswoman said in response, “Ron DeSantis will say whatever he can to keep his campaign afloat, even though he was one of America’s leading election critics until his campaign needed a ‘reset.’”

Also on the campaign trail, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said there is no “consensus” on when abortion should be banned. DeSantis asserted that he is pro-life and mentioned his track record of signing pro-life legislation in Florida, but that states like New York should have primary control over abortion laws, with the exception of federal regulation over partial-birth or post-birth abortion.

SPORTS NEWS

Florida State wide receivers Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson have been included on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List. Coleman is the former standout Michigan State Spartan that the Noles picked up in the transfer portal, and Wilson was a second-team All-ACC performer last season.

  1. @David — I find it amazing that the same folks that scream “THERE’S LIFE ON MARS” when a single cell is detected can deny human life for “convenience”.

  2. “When a government fails at its duty to protect its citizens… eventually, its citizens will not fail at their RIGHT to protect themselves.” ~ Edward Lyle 2023

It’s coming like a freight train folks… be aware of your surroundings at all times, watch your six, and train and equip yourselves to protect your person, your family, and your property. In Biden’s America, we’re on our own.

    God bless and be safe

  3. While you are talking about widening Bannerman Road, also talk about and consider widening Centerville Road from Capital Circle East about 10 Miles, Miccosukee Road from Capital Circle East about 10 Miles. Also, Tram Road from S. Monroe to Capital Circle and Crawfordville Highway from Capital Circle to the County Line.

  4. I am 100% Pro Life. If you do not know that you are Pregnant after 12 Weeks, that is on you. If you don’t know that you COULD get Pregnant after having UNPROTECTED Sex, that too is on you.

  5. The Commissioners should move the Meeting to High School Gym to fit everyone. DON”T mess with the Aquifer or the Springs.

  6. It’s sad to watch obvious crook Rudy Ferguson and some of these nonprofit kickback artists try to pimp out the gun violence to justify more taxes and spending for themselves. Meanwhile Curtis, Dianne, John and Revell just say there is nothing we can do. The establishment is a joke.

  7. To Spider’s point: Ralph Waldo Emerson, once visited our City and came away with this observation, “Tallahassee, a grotesque place….settled by public officers, land speculators and desperados.” He must have taken the Monroe St . exit from I-10. Emerson a Nole fan ?
BTW- Duels were outlawed in the early years and the offenders were to receive
a year in jail and $ 500 fine. Is it our water ?.
Thank you -Julianne Hare City Historian.

  8. Gun violence in Tallahassee is exactly the same as gun violence in Thomasville, Harrisburg, Chicago, and Los Angeles. It’s ZERO. People violence using guns (or anything else) is the problem.

Quit feeding the narrative by using the left’s incorrect terminology!

  9. The DAILEY crime and shootout report… the inmates continue to run the asylum.

DAILEY, DWC, and Curtis are the cause as they are the “holdouts” on doing the nationwide search for a proper City Manager.. and not a city manager who runs Kickback Enterprise AKA City Hall.

Dumbest quote ever by Dianne Williams-Cox when asked what she could do to reduce crime in Tallahassee.

“What can government do?” Mayor Pro-Tem Dianne Williams-Cox said.

  10. Tallahassee gun violence is like a BEAST from the 19th century that can not be slain. Tally had the one of the nations first civil police forces formed in 1841.. to combat duels and shoot outs in the main streeet from the state capitol..just like it was damned GUNSMOKE.

A quick glance at where it took place is revealing Its the ghetto S of FAMU. The areas REAL Boston Richie constantly raps as the home of his frens “the Snipers…” That no coincidence as the Rap glorifies gun violence.

Yesterdays dueling cowboys are todays trigger happy rap gangstas.. but its all the same.
