The state has dropped charges against a Tallahassee woman after her arrest in late September for felony voter fraud. At the time, the Tallahassee woman told investigators that she believed she was allowed to vote. But the woman was on probation after incarceration, and her voting rights were not yet restored. After the woman’s arrest, investigators found “subsequent information” that “compromised the State’s ability to proceed further.”
The inaugural North Florida Worlds of Work Career Expo will be held Thursday and Friday in Tallahassee. Thousands of high school students, teachers, and parents will descend upon Tallahassee Community College and Lively Technical College for hands-on opportunities in potential careers.

The local high school volleyball district finals are set for Thursday. In the 6A class, Chiles will host Leon, in 5A Lincoln will host the winner of Columbia & Vanguard, in 3A Florida High will host Maclay, and in 2A John Paull II will face North Florida Christian.
Florida State football head coach Mike Norvell has been named to the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award Watch List. Norvell is one of 26 coaches in the initial list that will be trimmed down as the season approaches its conclusion. Norvell was a finalist for the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award in 2019.

A proposed constitutional amendment would preserve forever the right to hunt and fish in Florida. The amendment was added via a House joint resolution in April during the 2023 Legislative Session. Voters will decide its fate on Election Day in November 2024. As a constitutional amendment, the measure will require at least 60 percent approval in order to pass.
Under an emergency executive order from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Florida sent 85 pallets worth of cargo to Israel on two successful plane launches. The planes are carrying medical supplies, clothing, hygiene products and toys. The launch comes after the first round of Americans rescued by Florida-chartered flights arrived earlier this week, carrying nearly 300.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said on the campaign trail said he would be able to pull some Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. voters since he has since announced an Independent presidential run. DeSantis suggested that Trump would “bleed support” due to his approach to COVID mitigation and “empowering Fauci.”

Good Job. The D.A. has emboldened Tallahassee’s Number 1 Race-baiter and Tallahassee’s Number 1 Wanna-be Race-baiter. A classic example of making a D.A. roll over.
It’s troubling that law enforcement makes a “middle of the night” arrest over a non-violent voter eligibility case. If law enforcement really believed the woman to have committed a felony, wouldn’t a middle of the day arrest be easier and safer? Granted, Ben Crump and crew were involved, making it about race instead of the allegations, and tipping my initial view as something other than “innocent mistake”, but it looks like an appropriate decision to not prosecute was made.
And regarding the proposal to put the responsibility for voter eligibility on the state, that’s a really bad idea. People still have to exercise some personal responsibility. Needlessly adding layers of bureaucracy and expense to the state is foolishness.
When someone goes to Register for a Voting Registration Card, the first question should be: “Have you ever Been Arrested”. If marked “YES” then Supervisor Of Elections does a Back Ground Check BEFORE issuing a Card. On March 1, 2025 the Voter Rolls should be pulled and and everyone who can Vote should have to Re-Register. That should clean up most of the problems.
