The latest reports show that Leon County lost 185 jobs in October. There were 163,844 people working in Leon County in October compared to last month’s revised employment number of 164,029. Get the details.

Republican Party of Florida Vice Chair Evan Power wants a special meeting to discuss state Chair Christian Ziegler’s future. In an email blast to the state party’s board members, Power said a special meeting needs to occur with Ziegler under criminal investigation for rape.

The Florida Supreme Court is likely to hear a statewide redistricting case. Voter rights groups are planning to appeal a decision that the state’s congressional districts can stay. The Florida First District of Appeals ruled Friday the legislature is okay in approving congressional maps drawn by Gov. Ron DeSantis’s office.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said the U.S. is being “invaded” in response to a video released Monday depicting a “large group of migrants” mainly composed of Chinese nationals crossing the border.
