Five months into 2024, the number of crime incidents reported by the Tallahassee Police Department remain down when compared to 2023. However, during the four days after the May 10 storm – when three tornadoes that moved through Tallahassee – property crime spiked, increasing by 50% when compared to the monthly average.

Recovery from a May 10 tornado outbreak has cost Florida’s capital city $50 million so far, Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey said Friday. Florida officials have requested that the Federal Emergency Management Agency declare a major disaster, which could make local government and individuals eligible for federal assistance. FEMA has not yet approved such a declaration.

Unlike many other parts of the country, Tallahassee has so far been spared the worst of the fentanyl epidemic. But Second Judicial Circuit State Attorney Jack Campbell fears that’s changing.

Sparked by home runs from Cam Smith and Max Williams, Florida State (45-15) scored nine runs in the fifth inning Sunday night to beat UCF (37-21) 12-4, winning the Tallahassee Regional and advancing to next weekend’s Super Regionals. A Broward County School Board member has continued to sound the alarm on an Anti-Defamation League program in Florida schools, saying grant funding should be returned and that the organization has “misled everybody” about its programs.

Domineering homeowners’ associations (HOAs) will have fewer ways to pester residents with nitpicky complaints and fines under a new law going into effect next month. Gov. Ron DeSantis signed HB 1203, which limits HOA fines and requires more transparency from the organizations.

  1. @ DSP = It is not over yet. I will almost bet that they will do with Hunter like they did with Joe. Joe is Guilty but to old to Prosecute. Hunter’s defense will be, he may have known what he was doing but he was too Drugged up to Prosecute.

    I hope Hunter Biden has a Biden Hating AG, DA, Judge, Prosecutor and Jury.
