The latest job report shows that Leon County lost 3,475 jobs in May when compared to last month as the transition to the summer economy begins. There were 155,746 people working in Leon County in May compared to last month’s revised employment number of 159,221.

A Florida Realtors report shows that there were 362 May single-family sales in the Tallahassee MSA, down 3.7% when compared to last year. The median sales price was $358,500, up 6.6% over May 2023.

Florida military bases could receive more than a billion dollars for construction projects if the new 2025 defense budget becomes law. The National Defense Authorization Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives on June 13. Before it becomes law, it must pass the Senate and receive President Joe Biden’s signature.

Beryl was on track to make landfall on the southern coast of Texas as a Category 1 hurricane this morning, the first storm of the 2024 Atlantic season to make landfall in the US. The storm last week killed at least 11 people across the Caribbean and Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Now, over 120 Texas counties are under disaster declaration as thousands of people have evacuated. Beryl is anticipated to bring heavy rains, winds, and possibly a storm surge (see 101).

  1. Did I read that Right? You said May 2024 Jobs Count was 155,746 and was a LOSS of 3,475 Jobs since June 2024 Job Count was 159,221 sooooo, wouldn’t that be a Gain and not a Loss since last Month being June is after May?

    Florida military bases could receive more than a billion dollars for construction projects if the new 2025 defense budget becomes law…….. unless Biden gives it to Ukraine.

    The Media and Democrats have been “gaslighting” the American people for over Two Years now and STILL ARE.
