LOCAL NEWS

During the March 26 city commission meeting, Commissioner Jeremy Matlow and Commissioner Jack Porter questioned the decision by the Tallahassee Police Department to cooperate with the federal government with enforcing immigration laws.

Officials say two tornadoes hit Leon County Monday. County Emergency Management Director Kevin Peters says one tornado was reported in the area of the Apalachicola National Forest. A second tornado was reported in the Killearn Lakes neighborhood.

A federal appeals court recently approved a request from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to dismiss a legal battle related to gender identity issues, effectively gave a victory to Florida.
