  1. Political differences aside, Roseanne Wood is one of the local politicians I actually respect. She keeps quiet outside of election times and focuses on her role on the LCSB.

I definitely think they need to work to “trim the fat”, but its not as simple as just firing some people and spending that money elsewhere.

I cant find the article that talks about the $30m, but I can see where they lost $17m in funding this year. Plus things are getting way more expensive. If they added $30m to the budget, its less than a 5% increase and I know my personal costs have increased more than 5%. We constantly talk about our public schools being underfunded and teachers not getting paid enough, but the second they ask for more money, everyone loses their mind. A change in the millage rate to raise that amount wouldn’t even be significant on an individual taxpayer level.

Also, “Everyone on the school board is incompetent and a threat to your child’s wellbeing.” Is a bit dramatic and sensationalist. Don’t listen to the news, every democrat is not our enemy. These are our neighbors, not monsters, and we get nothing done if we dismiss everything they do at face value and refuse to work together.

  2. Every year Rosanne Wood has been on the school board student performance has declined. Less than half the students can read proficiently at their grade level.

She needs to be fired but instead, the backward thinking clowns that put her in office think she should raise our taxes!

Everyone on the school board is incompetent and a threat to your child’s wellbeing.
