Leon County Jobs Up In February

The latest reports show that Leon County gained 2,017 jobs in February. There were 158,493 people working in Leon County in February compared to last month’s revised employment number of 156,476.

The February unemployment rate came in at 2.6%, unchanged from January. The unchanged unemployment rate – despite an increase in jobs – was due to an increase in the the number of people looking for jobs.

The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in February 2023 was 5,603 more than in February 2022.

The February 2023 labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 162,789, which was 4,701 greater than the number reported in February 2022.

One year ago, the February 2022 unemployment rate was 3.3%.

The chart below shows the monthly level of jobs in Leon County over the last 37 months with a 12-month average trend line. The highlighted numbers relate to employment levels for the month of February back to 2020.
