FSU Football Makes Top Ten for Players in NFL

The NCAA recently published the list of colleges most represented on 2017 NFL opening day rosters. The list included players on active rosters, injury reserved lists, practice squads and the commissioner’s exempt list.

FSU came in at No. 7 with a total of 40 players. This was second among ACC schools, behind the University of Miami  (4th overall) who totaled 44 players and ahead of Clemson University (8th overall) who placed 38 players in the NFL.

Approximately 285 schools from all levels of college football  were represented on NFL rosters for Opening Day 2017.

Four SEC schools — LSU, Florida, Alabama and Georgia — cracked the Top 10.

LSU came in at No. 1 with a total of 51 players. Florida was tied with USC for No. 2 with 45. Alabama tied Miami for fourth place with 44, and Georgia came at No. 8  tied with Clemson on the list with 38 NFL players.

The Big Ten added two teams – Ohio State (42) and Michigan (35) – and the Pac-12 was represented by Southern Cal.
