Airport Traffic Up 12.5% in December, 6.9% for 2019

The latest information from the Tallahassee International Airport shows that passenger traffic increased in December by 12.5% when compared to traffic one year ago. The number of passengers was up from 69,403 during last December to 78,089 this year.

The information also shows that traffic was up 6.9% in 2019 relative to 2018.

The Passenger Traffic Report shows passenger counts increased for the three major carriers. American was up 20.1%, the Delta Group was up 6.0% and Silver Airways was up 4.2%.

The graph below shows the annualized number of passengers for the last 24-months. The annual rate of passengers at TIA in December 864,730. This is 6.94% above the annualized rate reported during this month last year. The annualized number of passengers is calculated by summing the previous 12 months of traffic.

The annualized passenger traffic before the Great Recession was approximately 947,000 in 2007.
