Leon County Loses 22,030 Jobs in April

The latest employment information shows that Leon County lost 22,030 jobs in April. One year ago Leon County lost 620 jobs. The unemployment rate in April increased from 4.1% in March to 8.2%.

One year ago the unemployment rate was 2.7%.

The number of people working in April, 2020 decreased when compared to last year. The Leon County Jobs Report, listed below, indicates that 127,243 people were working in April 2020. This is 24,054 less than the 151,297 reported working in April last year.

Also, the labor force decreased when compared to one year ago. The April, 2020 workforce was 138,628 compared to 155,489 last year.

At the state-level, 1,722,000 jobs were lost in April, 2020. The unemployment rate increased from 4.3% in March to 13.3% in April.
