The latest employment information shows that Leon County added 1,958 jobs in September. One year ago Leon County added 4,902 jobs. The unemployment in September was 4.9%. The unemployment last month (August) was 5.6%. One year ago the unemployment rate was 2.8% in September.
The number of people working in September, 2020 decreased when compared to last year. The Leon County Jobs Report, listed below, indicates that 141,330 people were working in September 2020. This is 15,008 less than the 156,338 reported working in September of last year.
Also, the labor force decreased when compared to one year ago. The September, 2020 workforce was 148,5770 compared to 160,901 last year.
At the state-level, 41,000 jobs were added in September after adding 474,000 jobs in August, 2020. The September unemployment rate remained unchanged from July at 7.6%.
