Listed below are select events in our area taking place over the next two weeks.

Tallahassee Trivia
Date: Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Where: The Brass Tap, Midtown Tallahassee
Cost: Free.
What you’ll get: Arrive at 6:30 to register, trivia begins at 7:00. In town trivia at The Brass Tap Midtown Tallahassee which offers over 150+ craft beers from around the globe in a neighborhood atmosphere that feels both relaxed and upscale.

Native Plants, Native People
Date: Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park.
Cost: Free.
What you’ll get: You’ll hear from Barbara Clark, the regional director of the Florida Public Archaeology Network, and discuss how Native Americans and early European settlers in our region used plants as food, medicine, and more.

Homeless Veterans Stand Down Event
Date: Friday, August 6, 2021, and Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center, 1800 Wahnish Way
Cost: Free.
What you’ll get: Volunteers are needed for this event to help veterans at risk. We expect to serve over three hundred sixty (360) homeless and at-risk veterans. There will be more than sixty (60) agencies/service providers and more than three hundred persons who volunteering, participating, or assisting in this venture. The event is being organized by the Tallahassee Veterans Outreach and a host of others. See the link above for information on how to volunteer

Domi Station’s First Friday & Happy Hour
Date: Friday, August 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Domi Station, 914 Railroad Ave.
Cost: Free.
What you’ll get: Join Domi Station for our monthly First Friday Happy Hour! This event is open to our Domi community as well as the public. Domi will be providing free beer & snacks as attendees network and have cool conversations.

Fourth Micro Theater Festival
Date: Friday, August 6, 2021, and August 7, 2021, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Where: Goodwood Museum & Gardens, 1600 Miccosukee Road
Cost: $18-$20
What you’ll get: The event will take place at the Carriage House in Goodwood Museum and Gardens. The audience will enjoy a series of 15 to 20-minute plays written by Hispanic playwrights, performed in English. Some of these plays will be presented in English for the first time, and one of them is an adaptation of a Mexican short story by a local writer. Tallahassee Farmers Market
Date: Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Where: Cornerstone Church Yard, 2904 Kerry Forest Pkwy
Cost: Free.
What you’ll get: Vendors at the market provide products that are either locally grown/produced or are regionally sourced. Products that can be found at the market include vegetables, fruits, micro-greens, honey, mushrooms, meats, cheeses and yogurt, eggs, bread, and more.

Over Under Luau, Pig Roast and Parking Lot Party
Date: Saturday, August 07, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 8th at 2:00 a.m.
Where: Over Under Bar, 1240 Thomasville Rd.
Cost: $15-$30 per person.

AR Wood Working Workshop

Where: AR Workshop Tallahassee, 1950 Thomasville Rd. Ste. J

A JOURNEY THROUGH THE 80’S LIVE – Tallahassee Nights Live!

Salsa Summer Jam

What you’ll get: This is a Salsa Weekender from Friday night to Sunday morning with International Artists from Atlanta, GA, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Friday’s event is social dancing with performances from Jayson Molina and Meritxell Peña. Saturday’s events, begin at 1 p.m. with ladies styling, and continue with footwork classes until the main event with social dancing.   1. No mask mandate. No going out unnecessarily. Vendors that participate don’t care about public, just their wallets. They don’t understand that Covid has been hard on all of us. Suck it up & stay away, superspreaders

  2. I hope we can extend an invitation to our Governor to return to Florida and Govern our state and support our communities. August is a great time to be a leader rather than practice medicine without a license, Try visiting our Homeless Veterans. Congressman Gaetz might attend if there are any girls over 16.
