Holland & Knight Announces New CEO
The law firm, Holland & Knight, announced the new CEO of their Tallahassee office, Executive Partner Shannon Hartsfield.
Ms. Hartsfield, a native to Tallahassee, graduated from Florida State University College of Law and began working with Holland & Knight in 1994. She was appointed an executive partner of the Tallahassee office in February of 2020 and has been recognized by numerous organizations and publications for her legal abilities.

Holland & Knight, a Tampa-based firm, opened its doors in 1889 and is now the 47th largest law firm in the world and 24th largest in the U.S. The firm has more than 1,400 attorneys working in 24 offices across the U.S. and three international offices – in London, Mexico, and Colombia.
MetroNet Selects New Market Leader
MetroNet recently announced John Pipkin as the Florida Market Leader. In his new role, Pipkin will supervise the state’s fiber-optic infrastructure and support the continued growth and development of the nation’s largest independently owned fiber-optic provider.
Mr. Pipkin was previously the Community Account Representative of the Big South Region for Comcast. He has over ten years of experience and expertise in sales, marketing, and the communications industry. His vast experience will aid MetroNet in providing “future-proofed speeds” to Florida customers.
Mr. Pipkin will oversee MetroNet’s current Florida market, including Tallahassee. MetroNet is actively building out the 100 percent fiber-optic infrastructure that will provide fiber internet, TV, and phone services to residents and businesses throughout the state.
LCSO Announces New Information Officer
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office announced that several sworn law enforcement positions are transitioning to civilian roles to improve efficiency and productivity beginning this month.
The Public Information Officer is one of those roles that will now function as a non-sworn position. On October 22, 2021, Angela Green will officially join the LCSO to serve as the new Public Information Officer.
Green, a graduate from the University of Alabama with a degree in Mass Communication, currently serves as a local television news anchor and producer for WTXL ABC 27.
Green’s experience includes nearly two decades in broadcast news, media, and public relations. She is skilled in writing for broadcast news, public speaking, media relations, and event management.
The LCSO Executive Director of Community and Media Relations, Shonda Knight, said “Ms. Green’s vast communications experience and understanding of law enforcement operations contributed to her being a standout for the position. In addition, her pleasant personality and team player mentality will make her a great asset to our team.”
You forgot about Scott Maddox and Paige Carter Smith. They moved to their new residences this week. It would be interesting if Burnette was sent to the same joint as Maddox.
