Breaking Bad Trivia Night – Brass Tap
Date: Tuesday, November 16, 2021, begins at 6:30 p.m.
Where: The Brass Tap, 1321 Thomasville Rd.
Cost: Free.
What you’ll get: Come test your knowledge on the Breaking Bad series at Brass Tap Midtown. Enjoy cold beer and good food while you challenge other teams in trivia. Registration begins at 6:30.

Ride With a Ranger

Date: Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Where: Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, 3540 Thomasville Rd.
Cost: Free with park admission.
What you’ll get: Take in views of the forest on a 6-mile bike ride around Lake Overstreet with Park Ranger Scott Groves. Bring your own bike or call the park ahead of time to rent one (limited quantity available). Don’t forget to bring drinking water! Sign up by calling the park at 850-487-4556.

Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop
Date: Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

What you’ll get: In this workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the hand knitting process to create a super cozy, one-of-a-kind blanket. The blankets require no needles and knitting experience! For both style blankets, you will receive enough chunky chenille yarn to make an (approximately) 40″ x 50″ blanket.

Telescope Pre-Launch Party at CLC

Full Moon Hike

What you’ll get: Learn about the historic Overstreet Community on 3-mile roundtrip hike under the full moon, and look for bats, owls and other nocturnal wildlife with Park Ranger Billy Blair. There will be brief stops to talk about the history of the area.

What you’ll get: Join a presentation by the Florida Public Archaeology network about the different culture periods in Florida’s prehistory, from Paleoindian times through the Historic Period. Fall Break Archery Workshop
Date: Begins Monday, November 22, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Where: Joe Budd Youth Conservation Center, 639 Pond Rd. Midway, Fl
Cost: $30 for day $75 for all three days.
What you’ll get: This event is for 4th – 12th graders only. Pre-registration is required. Participants will be separated by age group. First day: Archers learn parts of a compound bow, types of bows, types of arrows, and how to draw, aim, and release safely. Second day: Introduction to 3-D shooting and shooting arrows from a tower. Archers will learn to maintain a bow and to fix arrows. Re-curve bow introduction. Third day: More 3-D shooting skills and competition events.
