Tallahassee’s Downtown Market Opens March 5th

Saturday – March 5, 2022 – will mark the beginning of the City of Tallahassee’s Downtown Market season. The market will open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Ponce de Leon Park, located at the corner of Monroe Street and Park Ave.

Tallahassee Downtown Market is the city’s longest-running Saturday market that features over 30 local vendors. The vendors range from local artists, farmers and food purveyors. The event occurs over the course of 42 Saturdays during spring under the canopy trees at The Chain of Parks.

The Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority notes that community support for the Downtown Market event is vital for local vendors and downtown businesses.

This year the market is being managed by local store owner Chrissy Souders. As the owner of Kitschy Wearable art, Souders has been a long-time market vendor and understands the talented vendors and unique assets located in the heart of Tallahassee.

Souders is active in the community and entrepreneurial ecosystem and is certified with the Tallahassee Leon County as a Minority, Women, and Small Business Enterprise Program through the Office of Economic Vitality.

Lastly, the city announced it is celebrating Tallahassee’s 198th birthday on the market’s opening day and will have free cupcakes donated by the Chocolate Dandies.

  1. Thank you Chrissy Souders for keeping this market going. I have been many times – it is so enjoyable to have vendors in a beautiful environment!

  2. @Hope,

Just as we’re contemplating Eternal Spring, Mother Nature’s sense of humor comes into play as she promises to break our drought this week only to end the flood with subfreezing temperatures!
