FSUS Softball Starts 10-0

The Florida State University High School softball team is off to a 10-0 start in the 2021-22 season. The team possesses a lethal combination of power,  consistent hitting and efficient pitching.

During the undefeated run, the team has a .347 batting average with 14 home runs and 81 RBI’s.

Infielders Madelyn Mayo and Jaysoni Beachum lead the team in hitting with batting averages of .515 and .500, respectively. Mayo has 4 home runs with 14 RBI’s and Beachum has 6 home runs with 13 RBI’s.

Four players have over 10 RBI’s – Mayo (14), Beachum (13), Carly Miller (12) and Rileigh Spinosa (11).

The team has an ERA of 2.87 with 91 strike outs over 70.2 innings pitched.

Breana Barnes and Carly Allen each have five wins as the pitchers of record. Barnes has an ERA of 2.33 in seven appearances with 41 strike outs. Carly Allen has an ERA of 3.43 in eight appearances with 50 strikeouts.

FSUS has 12 games left in their regular season including games with the Chiles Timberwolves (3/31) and the Lincoln Trojans (4/11). FSUS beat Lincoln 4-1 in an early season matchup.
