The latest jobs report shows that there were 154,547 people working in Leon County in August, which is 1,266 more than last month’s revised employment number.
The August unemployment rate came in at 2.8%, down from the 3.0% reported last month. One year ago, the August 2021 unemployment rate was 4.3%. In August, 2019 the unemployment rate was 3.5%.
Due to the impact of the COVID pandemic, the Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, includes comparison data back to 2019.
The number of people working in August 2022 was 7,774 more than in August 2019 and was 7,738 more than in August 2021.
The August 2022 labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 159,008 which was 6,009 greater than the number reported in August 2019.
