The latest information from the Tallahassee International Airport shows that November 2022 passenger traffic was 69,940. November traffic decreased 6.5% when compared to traffic one year ago. The number of passengers was down 4,895 from the 74,835 reported during November 2021.

Traffic will be impacted in Tallahassee on Monday, Jan. 2, and Tuesday, Jan. 3, due to Governor Ron DeSantis’ inaugural activities taking place on both days. According to the Tallahassee Police Department, local citizens should expect traffic delays in the downtown area and shifting traffic patterns around the Capitol Complex.

A funeral service is scheduled Wednesday for Ron Richmond, a former state House Republican leader and longtime lobbyist who died last week. Richmond, 81, served in the House from 1972 to 1984, including a term as minority leader in what was a Democratic-controlled House. At the time, he lived in Pasco County, with his district also stretching into nearby counties.

Florida and the state’s capital city will ring in the start of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ second term Tuesday, heralding a new chapter in Florida the Governor’s rise in national politics. Four years after DeSantis stepped into the Governor’s Mansion, he and Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez will be sworn in again in a two-day inauguration ceremony that draws from the Governor’s rallying cry for the “Free State of Florida.”
