The latest reports show that Leon County gained 382 jobs in March. There were 158,517 people working in Leon County in March compared to last month’s revised employment number of 156,476.
The March unemployment rate came in at 2.6%, unchanged from February. The unchanged unemployment rate – despite an increase in jobs – was due to an increase in the the number of people looking for jobs.
The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in March 2023 was 4,977 more than in March 2022.
The March 2023 labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 162,824, which was 4,5`89 greater than the number reported in March 2022.
One year ago, the March 2022 unemployment rate was 3.0%.
