Today the Tallahassee Police Department provided an “Incident Synopsis” regarding two shootings that took place on Saturday, May 6. The information is provided below.
2023-00080127 / Shooting Incident / 800 block of Sunridge Road / 4:13 AM / May 6
Multiple 911 calls were received referencing shots being fired in the area. Arriving officers located an adult female victim who sustained non-life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a bullet that came through her window. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene. At this time, no arrests have been made and it is unclear the circumstances that led up to the shooting, as well as whether the victim’s residence was the target. This investigation remains ongoing.
2023-00080140 / Shooting Incident / 1303 Ocala Road (Acasa Ocala Apartments) / 5:31 AM / May 6
Officers were dispatched for reports of shots being fired in the area. While officers were responding to the apartment complex, they received information of an adult male victim arriving at a local hospital advising he was shot in the Ocala Road area. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officers recovered multiple shell casings from the scene and located vehicles that were struck by gunfire. At this time, no arrests have been made and it is unclear the circumstances that led up to the shooting, as well as whether the victim was targeted. This investigation remains ongoing.
