Dr. Jason Oberste, an orthopedic surgeon who is a physician partner at TOC appeared on the Greg Tish Show on Real Talk 93.3 on May 22 to discuss vacation injuries.
Dr. Oberste shared a recent experience he had when his friend injured his foot while on a beach vacation. Dr. Oberste had advised his friend to take a trip to the ER if he felt like it was necessary after seeing the injury on FaceTime.
However, he noted how the wait time at most hospitals can be less than desirable. He continued, saying that while he appreciates his hospital colleagues and how hard they work, ultimately, they are inundated with real illnesses. He stated, “So when you go there with an ankle boo, boo, you’re at the end of the line.”
He went on to explain that he told his friend that he could either go to the hospital or go to the TOC Walk-In Clinic where he could receive an X-Ray, medicine and an ankle specialist.
Dr. Oberste said, “It’s been really, really cool to have this walk-in clinic experience we’ve created over the last almost half decade now.” Additionally, he explained there are several TOC Clinics around town. Currently, there are three TOC locations in Tallahassee, one on Welaunee Blvd which is the only Walk-In TOC location, the second on Capital Medical Blvd and the third on Centerville Rd.
D. Jason Oberste, M.D., FAAOS, is a Physician Partner of Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. He has led the TOC group of over 25 Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners since he was elected to his position in January 2021.
