A mistrial has been declared in the grand theft and fraud trial of former Jefferson County Clerk Kirk Reams. The judge granted the motion after the defense objected to witnesses referencing Reams’ previous charges. During his testimony, Charles Culp was asked about giving Reams some money and started discussing the need for Reams to pay attorney fees on a separate charge. The defense argued that it wasn’t fair to mention other charges and cases that aren’t relevant to this case. Judge Stephen Everett ultimately agreed.

President Joe Biden yesterday said if Israel launched a full-scale invasion of Rafah in Gaza, the US would stop supplying bombs and other weapons. The announcement came after the Pentagon yesterday revealed it had stalled a shipment of bombs to Israel last week, the first such delay since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. The shipment holds 3,500 munitions, divided roughly evenly between 2,000- and 500-pound bombs. The White House had called Israel’s actions in Rafah this week a limited operation, falling short of the full-scale invasion it has warned against.

  1. In Appendix A of the FAMU Gift Agreement, the second line (CeDAR Endowment Fund) has the wrong total listed. Ten years of proposed $3,760,000 gifts would be $37,600,000.
But the total listed is a whopping $327,600,000!

    Whoops.

    So much for “due diligence.”

Will Larry Robinson lose his presidency over this?

  2. From Politico:
Florida HBCU backs away from dubious $237M donation
The gift would have been one of the largest ever to an HBCU, but it immediately raised questions.
TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Florida A&M University is putting an announced $237 million donation from a Texas hemp farming executive “on hold,” as the media and school leaders raise questions about the value and source of the gift.

President Larry Robinson announced the decision at an emergency meeting Thursday of FAMU’s fundraising foundation. Board members expressed grave reservations about the donation, which drew national attention as one of the largest ever for one of the country’s historically Black colleges and universities. The

    FAMU is an embarrassment.
And I STILL want my tax grab back for Bragg Stadium.

  3. The $237.7 million FAMU donation is most likely a scam. There is reporting that the same guy tried to donate $95 million to Coastal Carolina University but that deal fell apart. From what I’ve read this Gregory Gerami guy donated shares of a private hemp farm company to FAMU. The stock valuation is probably wildly inflated.

  4. $237,750,000 is a strange Amount for a Donation, unless it was a collected effort from smaller Donations given by a lot of People. Wanting to understand the facts about the Donation is a good idea. Why was it given? Any Strings Attached? Any Favors expected? If it is just a simple “Donation to improve the School” then that is super Awesome and a huge Congratulations in in order.

  5. If People are Parking (not stopping) in some ones Driveway or on their Property without Permission or Parking (not stopping) in the Road and Blocking a Driveway, the Property owner should have the Right to call a Tow Company to remove said Vehicle.

Parking is when the Driver stops and gets out of the Vehicle. Stopping is when the Driver stops and stays in the Vehicle.
