On October 5th, Arnold High School, located in Panama City, hosted the Marlin Mayhem cross country (5K) meet at Bay Dunes Golf Course with participation from Leon County high school teams/individuals that included Lincoln, FSUHS, Chiles, Rickards, Community Christian, and St. John Paul II.
Boys
Leon County schools that were able to enter enough runners (minimum of 5) to represent a team included Lincoln and Community Christian (CCS). Lincoln finished 2nd with a team average run time of 17:40 with notable performances from runners Matthew Hauser and Trent Parsons. Hauser finished in first place with a time of 16:25.90 and Parsons finished 6th with a time of 17:20.50.
CCS finished in 3rd place as a team with an average run time of 18:17 with notable performances from runners Jeremy Collier and Luke Meli. Collier finished 8th with a time of 17:29.80 while Meli finished 11th with a time of 17:39.50.
Other notable individual performances included Lincoln runner Ryan McCreary (16th place, 17:52.60), CCS runner Landon Reaves (17th place, 17:59.39), Rickards runner Jamarin Lane (18th place, 18:08.40), Lincoln runner Bryan Duff (20th place, 18:15.80) and FSUHS runner Lawson Phillips (22nd place, 18:19.90).
Girls
In the girl’s division, there were three schools from Leon County that were able to enter a team including Lincoln, St. John Paul II (JPII) and Community Cristian (CCS). Lincoln finished in 4th with an average run time of 25:41 led by Trojan runners NyAshia Wright (25th place, 24:27.70) and Sujin VanHoeij (29th place, 24:59.70). JPII finished in 7th place paced with performances from Annalise Milligan (31st place, 25:38.20) and Danielle Saso (32nd place, 25:51.60). CCS finished 8th as a team led by Ariah Zehr (23rd place, 23:59.60) and Kylee Young (40th place, 26:33.20).
Other notable individual performances includedChiles runner Haley Heitmeyer (9th place, 21:45.20), Florida High runner Leah Boutwell (11th place, 22:06.00) and Florida High runner Elin Quisenberry (18th place, 22:50.50),
