City Candidate Inman Johnson Questions Richardson’s “Girl Dad” Parenting

Just when you thought the campaign for city commission could not get nastier, city commission candidate Dot Inman Johnson has publicly criticized the parenting of her opponent, City Commissioner Curtis Richardson.

In a recent social media post, Inman Johnson posted, “As a ‘girl dad’ my opponent should fight harder to protect the rights of women, not less.”

The post by the Inman Johnson campaign is an effort to mislead voters related to Curtis Richarson’s position on abortion rights. During Richardson’s long political career, Richardson has been a consistent supporter of abortion.

However, Richardson chose not to support a politically driven city resolution related to abortion stating “my history in the support of women’s rights is well documented. I believe in a woman’s right to choose. It is a personal choice. But this is an issue for the Florida Legislature; what we have to say won’t be heard there.”

Now Inman Johnson and her progressive supporters – including City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow – are trying to convince voters that Richardson does not support abortions rights – a position that could cost him votes due to the partisan make-up of the city electorate.

These latest efforts are the first time that Richardson’s opponents have referenced his family in a campaign attack. Traditionally, a politician’s family have been off limits when it came to political attacks.

Richardson is married with two daughters. It has been reported that the two daughters are the first Black sisters from Florida to attend the U.S. Naval Academy.

She shouldn’t talk about parenting with a convicted felon for a husband and a son that Is in prison.

@ Ish... 100% spot-on. Pizza Boy and his Cabal of Crazies are focused on a warped political ideology and agenda. Commissioner Richardson is rightly focused on our City. I too disagree with several of his positions, but respect that he knows what his charge is.

@Frank ... Curtis and Dot share the same opinion on abortion. However, Curtis was well-aware the City had no say and meaningless gestures, like the proposed City Resolution in support is useless, divisive, and a waste of time. While I disagree with both of them, I respect the fact Curtis understands the role of City government. This line of attack smacks of desperation.

Jeff, I agree but many folks use how a candidate votes on unrelated issues as a way to 'figure out' how a candidate will vote on other issues.

The Pizza Boy's Cabal of Pro-Hamas Progressive Lunatics lie, cheat, steal, and rig even their own elections. Oh, and for some sick and twisted reason, love to kill innocent babies up to the moment of birth and even beyond. It's what they do; it's who they are.

These are evil times my friends... and these are evil people.

    Just say NO to Dot.

Curtis sent his kids to the Naval Academy. Dot Johnson sent her husband a 3000 dollar check for "advice". I don't think Curtis' parenting skills are at question here...

    Dot is despicable.

City has no say on abortion, has nothing to do with the job, is irrelevant in the race.

WOW, from the looks of it, after November 5th., no matter WHO is running the City, it's not going to be good.

What is this obsession democrats have to kill babies that a candidate who is on the record in favor of killing babies is attacked by an opponent who feels his voice for killing babies was not loud enough when he voted no on a pro-baby killing resolution before an elected body that, thank God, has no purview over the killing of babies
