September Airport Passenger Traffic Up 4.4%

The latest information from the Tallahassee International Airport shows the September 2024 passenger traffic increased 4.4% when compared to traffic one year ago. The number of passengers was up 3,183 from the 72,114 reported during September 2023 to 75,297 in September 2024.

The calendar year-to-date comparison, January through September, shows passenger traffic is up 13.58% in 2024 when compared to 2023.

Relative to 2023, the Passenger Traffic Report shows year-over-year passenger counts in September were down 5.3% for American Airlines, down 5.3% for the Delta Group and up 25.3% for Silver Airways. New service provider Jet Blue added 6,333 passengers in August 2024.

The graph below shows the annualized number of passengers for the last 37-months. The highlighted numbers on the graph indicate the annual traffic during the month of July over the last four years.

The annual rate of passengers at TIA in September 2024 – 940,158 – is up 12.6% when compared to one year ago. The annualized number of passengers is calculated by summing the previous 12 months of traffic.

    Two years, only, is not a good comparison in the financial world.

    Pre-pandemic numbers would mean a lot more long term effects for airport, housing, employment/unemployment, etc.
